I was planning on asking my bridesmaids with a nice card and note. They all live in California, however over an hour away from where I live, so asking each one is person is not going to work. I thought that would be nicer than over the phone. I have been asked this way and I thought it was fine, however, now I am reading things on-line that suggest that it may be tacky- HELP!! Is that tacky?

Hi! :D I am totally loving this bright colorful gerber daisy theme for my wedding next June. I like the deep pinks matched with the orange–I am a bold, fun, expressive person and feel this will be perfect for my fiance and i. The problem I am having is on the guys vests and on my fiance’s vest. They will just die if I tell them they have to wear pink or orange vests. I know my fiance’s vest needs to be different than the groomsmen’s vests. What colors would you suggest here? Silver and White? (my fiance is blonde with freckles…i am afraid that white will wash him out—silver would look better on him…but i am just so stuck here) HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I am getting married next May and my bridesmaid dresses are Palm Beach coral from Davids Bridal. My other color is light yellow and maybe some pinks (not sure). I am having trouble finding anything such as invitations or ribbon in coral. Does anyone know where I can find anything to match the coral color? Thanks!!

Crystal — here is a great resource for wedding wagon pics (the kind for young children). I’m sure you’ll find some just perfect ideas here:

I am getting married in May. I have peach bridesmaid dresses and the guys are wearing khakis with a peach shirt. Would it be weird to do hot pink and orange gerbera daisies for the girls, with me carrying orange roses? I also don’t know if I should decorate the reception area in hot pink and orange or just stick to peach. Thanks

Hi Carmen,

I recommend using a wagon to incorporate an infant into the wedding. My husband and I own http://www.wedding-wagon.com and we can setup a wagon with a seatbelt or harness. Call or email me with any questions.

thanks,
Lauri

We are planning a bachelorette party for a mutual friend. When we asked for a guest list, she provided a list with over 20 names! I always thought that bachelorette parties were an intimate gathering of your closest friends. Comments??

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the proper protocol/etiqutte for getting a wedding gift for your friends? Is it super tacky to get it after the wedding? And, also, is it super tacky for the bride to post a bulletin on myspace calling out all the people who have not yet gotten the gift?(financial reasons on our part) We have always planned on getting the wedding gift, even if the brides ‘feelings were hurt’ and still do even though she has made us feel horrible about not getting it in time. It’s been 3 weeks since her wedding, so, if anyone knows the proper etiquette please email me loriward896 at yahoo dot com. I tried to “Ask the Experts” here on this site, but they are all full up and not taking anymore questions right now! Thanks everyone!

I plan on a September evening beach wedding at Cape Cod, MA. The reception will be the following day in Boston, MA. I want to stay with the beach theme but the reception will not be at the beach. How can I incorporate both beach and “in-town” decorations for the reception tables, flowers, etc.

I am planning a Christmas wedding and naturally, the Christmas colors would be obvious. I would like to tone it down by using Red, Cream and Gold, with ivy and some other highlighs for green. I don’t want a ‘wedding dress’, but would rather have a cream colored tailored suit (I’m 54) and a black suit (cream colored shirt, etc) for him (32). What ideas can you provide to help me plan an intimate candlelight ceremony in our Clubhouse complete with beautiful fireplace and 8 ft tall tree and decor? I really want this to be special and there are no ideas online that I have seen. Help!! (both my parents are deceased, he has a 14 year old son, I have a 21 year old daughter. We only want these two in the wedding with us. As a matter of fact, my daughter is a Culinary Arts graduate from Sullivan and specialized in Baking and Pastry!

Hello-
I am planning a bridal shower for my sister for about 150 people. I’ve got pretty much everything under control, thanks to this site, except for one thing……
My sister’s fiance’s family brings their children EVERYWHERE!! I don’t a bridal shower is an appropriate place for children. I believe it is an adult event.
How do I ask everyone to leave their children at home without offending anyone??

Thanks!

Hi. I’m planning my wedding for October 20th. My fiance wants a very simple not elaborate wedding. I am trynig to keep costs down as well. The men are going to wear suits rather than tuxes. I am having trouble choosing colors since it is going to be in the fall. I love pink, but it’s not exactly a fall color and I don’t know if that would be the best choice for the men’s ties. Also since we are going small, we are thinking of just one maitron of honor and one best man. What about ushers? I don’t really understand all the basics even. Any and all help, suggestions, opinion, advice, etc. are welcome! Thank you!!!

DEAR LISA POMPEI,
LAST OCTOBER HERE IN TENNESSEE WAS A SCORCHER IT DIDN’T TURN OFF COOL UNTIL LATE DECEMBER. THE WEATHER WAS ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL.THE WEATHER HERE CAN BE UNPREDICTABLE SO I WOULD SUGGEST IF POSSIBLE , THAT YOU BRING TWO OUTFITS ONE FOR WARM WEATHER AND ONE FOR SLIGHTLY COOLER WEATHER AS IT IS HARD TO TELL WHICH ONE WE WILL HAVE. HOPE THIS HEPS. IF NOT CHECK THE WEATHER CHANNEL THEY’RE USUALLY ONLY A FEW DEGREES OFF OF THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE.

i am wanting to make my own invitations, i saw a beautiful design, the card wont actually stand up when the invite is made, the card for making the invite starts out in the shape of like a butterfly and when its all foled into the center at the front it ends up being a square invitation which opens out rather than opening the way a normal standard card does, its hard to explain as you can gather, my question is where might i find the card for making it????

Hello,
This wedding will take place in August 11, 2007 and the theme is “Walking in the Season”. Looking for favors that would have footprints or something related to the theme. I’m looking for ideas for this couple. They are ministers so this is really difficult. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can’t find inexpensive glass bowls for my centerpieces. I am floating gardenias and rose petals with marblesat the bottom and floating candles so it needs to be pretty big–6-12″in diameter.

How should you go about deciding on a wedding theme? They all sound nice. The wedding would be small 25-35 people or so, and very laid back.

My fiancee and I have been living together for a few years now, and don’t really need any “household” gifts for our wedding. This is my first and his second wedding, and we each have a 5 year old from a previous relationship. Would it be in bad taste to put “presentation” or “cash presentation” on the invitations so that people know not to buy us any more toasters?

Hi,

I’m having a sweet sixteen that is Cinderella themed and I need help with my favor. I saw on this website that you could fill the shoes with gummy mice. I really like that compared to the traditional silky mint becuase it’s unique and fresh. I’ve Googled 8-| my mind out trying to find a website that carries mice small enough to fit inside of a glass slipper. If you have any references please e-mail me. Also, do you have any ideas for a sweet sixteen centerpiece?

Thanks,
Cinderella :D
