Is Orange & Fuchsia Too Loud for a Wedding?
Dear Kristina:
Fuchsia and Orange together can be absolutely wonderful. How you pull it off will depend a lot on the overall look you want to create.
If you are going to a romantic, soft look, then you will need to tone it down a bit. A bouquet with a variety of colors: pale pinks, white, pale yellow, and just a few hints of orange and fuchsia will bring in those colors softly.
One of the bouquets shown here is done in different color roses. If you decide to go this route, make sure to follow suit in your decor: soft colors, and a few strong accents. Another thing to consider is a softer bridesmaid color. Sashes are very popular right now, and a bridesmaid dress in a softer color with a nice bright sash would look stunning. Perhaps pale pink with alternating orange and fuschia sashes?
On the other hand, if you have a flair for the dramatic, these two colors can be used to create a beautiful and yet unique statement at your wedding as well!
Start with the bright-colored gowns, and use bright colors for the flowers as well. A brighter bouquet shown here uses fuchsia, oranges and purples for a beautiful and elegant look.
This look is more exotic, so look for flowers with an exotic style: birds of paradise, calla lilies, and so on. (You may want to consider going with silk, as these flowers tend to get costly.)
Then carry the color throughout your wedding. Use bold colors for your centerpieces, wedding cake, napkins, etc. Make sure you also use a bold color for the men's vests and flowers so that it blends together well.
For a cool, contemporary modern look, consider combining your pinks and oranges with bright lime.
For the flowers, pick a simple, streamlined bouquet made with long-stem fuchsia and orange calla lilies, or gerbera daisies.
Then for your decor, use white clean lines everywhere, with just a few color accents.
For example, your tables could be crisp, stark white with clean glass containers filled with limes and water, each tied with orange or fuchsia ribbon, or holding a bright colored gerbera as the centerpiece. Your cake could be all-white with a few orange, fuchsia and lime accents.
You could even have your bridesmaids in white tea-length gowns with orange, fuchsia and lime sashes if you wanted to go all the way with it.

Hello Ladies…So ever since I started reading all of your comments, I decided that I was going for the Hot Pink/Orange look. But then, I saw Dawn P.’s comment where she gives the name of some bridesmaid dresses and some links to some more pink and orange. So these colors are more pastel, but they look really good. They look a bit more elegant, and I think I am sticking to those colors….THANKS DAWN!!!!!
My wedding is fushia, hot pink, and orange as a accent color in the flowers. I am having touble, with what color I should have the men tuxe’s. I wanted there tux to be white, but did not know, how that would look or what colors vest they should wear. I am having the bridesmaids wear fushia colored dresses.
i dont know if the links help or not. but i am working on a pic i hope i can send it. you might like it. i think it looks amazing done like this. that way you get the best of both worlds in the color. but if you dont then white tuxes with fuschia would look great as would black with fuschia. i dont think i would use orange. it might look promish. i am having a difficult time trying to find pics, but i will keep looking!!
let me know if you like the black pants and white dinner jacket look. add a colored bout. in fuschia to pull it together. i do love it!! it would accent your colors sooooo well!! i love the wear again color and classic style of black strappy shoes with the fuschia dresses. if pics didnt pull up you can go to davidsbridal.com and dress your wedding party. also found a white tux, just so you could see another pic of the look your after.

Hello ladies,
I am getting married on Sept 19, 2009 and I have chosen fushia and orange as my colors. As far as bridesmaid dresses I was thinking about finding something simple enough that I could add a sash. I haven’t decided what color they will wear but whichever one I will just add the sash in the opposite color. Just an idea.

I am getting married in April 2009 and my colors are pink and orange. I have been looking for months for the bridesmaid’s dresses. Does anyone have pictures of a dress they had there wedding party wear or what there future bridesmaids will be wearing? It is really hard to pick one out when you can not see the colors in person or in a book together.
Hi Lori! I’m getting married May 29th 2010 and I am having the same problem! I can’t find dresses anywhere. I’m looking for fuschia dresses that are long with alittle detail. I hate plain!! What color are you looking for? My wedding is fuschia and orange!
I was wanting a bridesmaid dress that is mainly pink with a little orange. If I find something I will let you know.
When I think pink & orange bridesmaid gowns I think of Aria bridesmaids. I am love with their colors, designs but most of all their fabric, silk shantung which for me just transforms the bridesmaid look and makes it beyond beautiful — a dress you really would never ditch at the thrift store after the fact. Here are a few pics, one maybe close to your colors, and the other just to show how beautiful a simple overlay design is in their fabric.
I love these pics, the dresses are gorgeous! By chance do you know the Aria color of the dress on the right with the overlay? I went on the Aria website, but could not find that pic.
Thanks for posting these and introducing us to Aria! :)
I finally found my bridesmaids dresses. I am so excited. They are from Forever Yours and there are a ton of dresses to choose from to include both the pink and orange. The picture here is shown in different colors. The colors I am going to use Fuschia and Tangerine. I am getting married in April so I think this going to look great.
Hi Lori,
Have you considered hiring a seamstress? I did, I told her exactly the color I wanted and just gave her a picture of a dress I loved out of a magazine. She made them perfectly!
I absolutely love your dresses. Very good idea! I wouldn’t even know where to go to find someone to do that. I live in a small town. I found dresses I like a lot but they don’t come in fuschia. Maybe I’ll try to find someone! THANKS 4 the tip!
Thanks I never thought of that

I just bought some awesome fuschia b-maid dresses at Dillards. The bright colors are really in this year, so i decided not to even bother with spending the extra $ it takes to buy from a bridal store. These cost me $37 each, on sale!
go to davidsbridal.com you can play with the dresses, the colors, the flowers, even create a pic of your whole wedding party. I am doing wine, champagne, and coral. good luck, and crongrats!!!
Hey just wanted to let you know that I too am using orange and pink for my wedding in May. I am going with a brighter orange(tangerine) by Alfred Angelo. Its hard to find dresses in this color. My advice would be to find a designer that carries the exact color orange you want and then choose the style of dress. The colors all look different from one designer to the next, Good luck!!
Has anyone done teal (or ocean blue) dresses and fuschia and orange flowers? I’d love to see pics!
Lisa, see if you can use any of this? This is a beautiful, bold color combo!

I’m getting married on July 18, 2009 in my dad’s yard. I’m planning on having fuchsia and orange as my colors, and maybe yellow as well. I’m looking for ideas for invitations, centre pieces, tablecloths, etc. So far the comment on here have been great. Also, if anyone has any pictures, please email me at chantelle_harty@hotmail.com. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi Hope,
For your tablecloths, you will want something that will make you (your dress) stand out. So if your dress is ivory, go with a contrasting color for the cloths. Black will look very elegant. Regarding your flowers, I think going with all shades of pink will look stunning. Ensure you throw in fuchsia flowers too (gerberas). Also peonies in any shade of pink are so pretty. Peonies stand out so pretty. And it will look cute too if you add green, stringy, things. Not sure what they are called. I attached a few pictures of the center pieces I had for my bridal shower. Hope this helps!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! You will have a blast!
I just got married on June 21, 2008. My colors were orange, fuchsia, and yellow and I had gerbera daisies everywhere! My new hubby and I were married June 14 in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, my hometown. Our photographer was so great that he gave us our photos in four days!
After spending 2 months looking for a wedding gown, we planned our wedding in 4 months trying to beat the hurricane season. It was extra special to me coordinating everything including DIY projects such as centerpieces, programs, pew markers, gift bags, and even decorating the wedding cake myself.
My most favorite part of our wedding ceremony was our Unity Sand Ceremony.
It was a blessed day.
Hi Ladies, we have a new freakin’ adorable Orange & Fuchsia wedding pulled off by Delores, who was kind enough to share all lots of juicy detail snaps in the photo album (my apologies Delores for being FOUR DAYS BEHIND in posting this, so take a look and if you have any questions she might be around to answer them!
