Ten Cool Las Vegas Wedding Options
If you're planning a wedding in Las Vegas, you may not be aware of all the opportunities available to you.
Here are ten interesting Las Vegas wedding options. They may not be as famous as Las Vegas' many wedding chapels, but they're sure to leave an equally lasting impression.
1. Helicopter Weddings - Many Las Vegas wedding chapels, as well as Papillon Helicopter Tours, offer helicopter weddings. The ceremony can take place as you fly above the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip, or you have the option of flying to the Grand Canyon and saying your nuptials there.
2. Red Rock Canyon - Many wedding locations offer wedding packages at this canyon location. Red Rock Canyon is located just west of Las Vegas and offers stunning scenery, making it an ideal site for wedding ceremonies.
3. Yacht Weddings - You can have your wedding on a 60 foot private yacht as it floats around beautiful Lake Las Vegas.
4. Gondola Weddings - Your wedding could also take place on a gondola at Lake Las Vegas. The Venetian offers gondola weddings as well, which take place on a canal at the Venice themed hotel.
5. Mount Charleston - Mount Charleston is located less than an hour from the Las Vegas Strip. It's a popular Las Vegas getaway, especially in the summer months when temperatures are usually thirty degrees cooler than in the Valley. The hotel and lodge up on the mountain both offer wedding packages.
6. Lake Mead Weddings - You can get married on a two-level Mississippi style paddlewheel boat while it floats around on this famous man-made lake.
7. Stratosphere Roller Coaster - If you're really adventurous, say "I do" on a roller coaster located near the top of an 1100 foot tower.
8. Bonnie Springs Old Nevada - This replica of an 1880’s Old West mining town is located just west of Las Vegas, in the Red Rock Canyon area. The town includes a western style chapel that's open for ceremonies. BBQ dinners are available for wedding receptions.
9. The Famed Las Vegas sign - A few Las Vegas chapels can arrange a wedding ceremony at this famous Las Vegas landmark.
10. Hot Air Balloon Weddings - What could be more of a rush than becoming husband and wife as you soar above the earth in a hot air balloon?
So if you want to get married in Las Vegas, know that you're not limited to a wedding chapel. The city provides plenty of opportunities to let your imagination run wild when planning your big day.

Let's be honest - what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. I’m getting married in January in Vegas at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa. Our families (and us) will all be coming from across Canada and the people at the hotel are making everything very easy for me. I fell really good about everything which is great because I won’t be in Vegas until days before the wedding.
I like the idea the hotel is off the strip, but close. I’m still trying to decide on how to decorate.

Ok strange enough but my name is also Dawn and I’m getting married in Vegas in October 2008. I would like to share in some ideas if you ladies have any. I live out of town and am stuck on what to do for reception ideas since I don’t care to travel to and from with a bunch of things. I have booked a chapel and resturant already. My colors are pink, brown & gold. I am from vegas and wanted to stay away from the theme but don’t mind some of it. Please let me know if you would like to chat!

How fun-we haven’t decided on an exact date-probably in May 2009 cause my sister is getting married next year as well as my best friend so it’ll be a busy year as it is. Do you know where you want to get married as far as chapels go? I’ve looked at about a million sites and we went to Las Vegas this past May and think that the Stratosphere is where we are going to get married-the view is AMAZING! We stayed at the Flamingo and they had some very nice chapels too-just in case you haven’t decided. How far after the wedding/Vegas trip do you think you’ll have your reception? I’m not sure if it should be a couple weeks or a month? I found some great invitations for an announcement of the vegas wedding/reception at home if you want that information let me know! Also are you having family and friends going to the wedding? I have probably about 20 people that want to go and I’ve never tried to arrange for “group reservations” for plane and hotel before…do you think each couple should reserve separately? Well I’ve probably hit you up with WAY too many questions, but let me know what your plans are as far as your chapel, your colors, favors etc! (I really think the chocolate personalized poker chips are great!) So glad you wrote and Congrats!!!

I want to have a wedding in Las Vegas and then have a big reception where we live in Michigan. How long after the wedding should I wait to have the reception? I’m thinking about having a white dress with red accents and I’d like to wear this at the reception as well, I figured a red/black/white color theme would look classy, but I also want it to be a fun reception-should i go with the “Las Vegas” theme as well? Any ideas or help on having a destination wedding and a large reception would help!!!! Thanks
