Serve up traditional English food
Think roast dinners and bangers and mash over fussy chicken in a white sauce or vol-au-vents, there are so many great pubs in London you’re sure to find one that will do catering for your wedding! Cream teas and scones with plenty of jam are a great idea for dessert, or you can hire a traditional Mr Whippy ice cream van to remind you and your guests of warm summers spent in the green parks the city has to offer. Pick a well known venue (if you have the budget)
If you have thousands to spend there are numerous well known locations in the capital that can be rented out for the day for a wedding. London Zoo, for example, allows you to hire out an area for your ceremony and reception or there are galleries within the Natural History Museum where your guests can marvel at the displays while celebrating your marriage.
Choose the perfect landmark for photos
Do you love Big Ben? Or is the Thames the most special of all London landmarks for you and your partner? Once the ceremony is over dash off to a special location for photos before making your way to where the wedding breakfast is to be held. If you can’t make it to a special venue try to find a traditional red phonebox to pose in front of or a double decker bus!
Feature the tube in your décor
A fun tube map table seating plan is great for guests to figure out when they arrive, as well as naming tables after all known stations – be sure to include the rude sounding ones – and perhaps even creating invites that look like all day train passes or oyster cards, like these.
Bright red roses are great for table arrangements and bouquets or you could opt for a red, white and blue colour scheme to tie in with the Union Jack flag and bring everything together.

Supporting local businesses is more important than ever these days, so ensure you choose those based in the capital to really tie in with your wedding theme.
