Style Tips for a Country Chic Wedding

Country chic is all the rage in modern weddings, and with good reason. They are fun, laid back, and a lot less stressful than traditional church weddings. This is the wedding for folks who want to have fun! There is good food, good friends, good music, and a wedding! What more could you ask for?

Putting together a country chic wedding does not have to be difficult. We will give you a few tips that will ensure your choice of wedding is a major success.

Venue

The venue is very important. Popular choices are plantations, farms, wineries, and barns. These settings are easily decorated and perfect backdrops for photographs. Many small towns on the outskirts of cities have locations that are available to rent.

Music / Dancing

The venue should have a place for dancing, and lots of country music. A live band is best, but regardless, country music is a must. A dance floor is always a big hit at a country chic wedding, as the bridal party and the guests expect to do some “boot scooting”.

Decor

The decor should include burlap bows, mason jars for flowers and separate ones for drinking. Clear twinkle lights are a good choice along with hurricane lamps.

Wooden and hand-painted signs look great to welcome guests to your event. Placing sunflower stalks around, tied with burlap bows make lovely country decorations which also works especially well if you incorporate a sunflower or two into your bridesmaids’ bouquets.

Food

Country chic means country food. Fried or barbecued chicken, mac n cheese, biscuits, and other homemade goodies are usually on the menu. Many people still have a wedding cake, but candy buffets have become very popular (replacing the dessert table) in these settings.

The Bridesmaid’s dresses

This venue is perfect for the short (or tea-length) bridesmaids dress. You simply cannot have a country chic wedding without cowboy (or cowgirl) boots. The champagne bridesmaid dress is a great choice. It can be accessorized with any color (even denim) and a champagne dress looks great with cowgirl boots! A wrap or short denim jacket added at the reception looks awesome. Champagne is neutral enough to match any setting. There are plenty of styles to choose from at Azazie. You are sure to find the style, cut, and sizes your bridal party needs.

Headpieces

Free flowing hair styles, tiny blooms of flowers in the hair, or a bridesmaid’s headpiece are all okay for the country chic wedding.

Flowers

The flowers at a country chic wedding are usually a bold combination of wildflowers. Anything goes. Bring the wow factor with sunflowers, greenery, and a variety of colors. Bring the raw look of nature to your wedding. From orchids and roses to carnations and lilies, there is no “wrong” flower for the country chic wedding, and no flower that will not complement a lovely champagne dress.
