Popping the Next Question
After he's popped his question to you, now comes the time for you to pop your question to your friends:
"Will you be my bridesmaid/Maid-of-Honor?"
And to make things even harder about the whole process, you first have to figure out exactly WHO you'll ask. I mean — at least your fiance knew he'd ask you. He was only (hopefully) dating you. But what if you have a gaggle of girlfriends? How do you decide?
Some girls just choose a sibling, normally the oldest one, so they don't even have to choose among their friends. I guess that could be the way to go. I know I thought of it.
But my closet sibling is 13 years old. And she's a sweetie, but we're not close or anything. Still, for a while there, I was just going to go with her just to avoid any hurt feelings.
But then I thought about it some more and realized that role was just more then a title to fill. That the MOH had duties, and she meant something. So then I thought about who would be the perfect person — and, come to think of it, who'd also be over the age of 18 so they could sign the license as a witness. LOL.
So at last I settled on my perfect MOH, which for me is my best friend, Echo. She's been there for one marriage and one kid, not to mention several moves around the USA. We've been through a lot together outside of what life has brought us, and I know it wasn't a duty she'd take lightly.
Hopefully she'll say yes, and we'll live happily ever after. Oh wait, I mean she'll say yes ... and help me live happily ever after.
