The Aqua Blue Wedding

It might say beach. It might say Fifth Avenue.

Either way, the aqua blue wedding (often paired with the most classic of supporting acts, like silver, pearls and creamy roses) is a feast for the imagination ... and the eyes.

Pulling off Your Own Aqua Blue Wedding

Plenty of aqua brides stick to their beloved blue, offset with lots of crisp white and crystal. But many brides accent with more colors. Popular uptown picks include chocolate brown, platinum and soft pastel pink. Beachier combinations include orange, fuchsia or yellow. Fearless brides even pair aqua with red!

This look offers so many choices, you just need to lay claim to yours. Decide whether to "spread the wealth" with faux pearls and seashells, or swarovski crystals and platinum accents, or seashells or giant white ostrich feathers — or some other direction that's all your own.

Aqua Blue and Crystal

If you're a crystal bride, you'll sparkle in a gown with a bodice lightly embroidered with Swarovski crystals, and tuck a crystal tiara in your updo.

Then, thrill your bridesmaids with crystal hair pins or combs. Plus, place glimmering picks in your floral bouquet, or skip the blooms and bear an all-Swarovski heirloom crystal bouquet down the aisle.

Having a tent wedding? Line the marquee roof with string lights, hang clear crystal chandeliers from the center, and prop up more crystal in the form of grand candelabras topping Corinthian columns.

Then, look into the new pintucked linens with subtle metallic thread, and draw on crystal-studded placecard frames to guide your guests to their seats. Top off your cake with another tiara, circling a sweet dome of cream-colored roses.

Aqua and Platinum

Imagine crisp white roses peeking out of silver trumpet vases. Sleek silver candlesticks keep the look going, with delicate white rose petals scattered at the base. A silver monogram sets off the top of your cake. Brushed silver frames announce each table number and guest seat.

Guests tuck into a delectable meal over silver chargers, after oohing and ahhing over the generous favor box that graced their plate. While you finished up with your photos, they'd enjoyed a signature cocktail made with Blue Curacao and a jigger of pineapple juice, gussied up even more with a bright blue sugar rim.

Your gifts to your bridesmaids? Sterling-silver pendants ... and timeless silver cufflinks for the guys.

Aqua Hits the Beach

Aqua's a favorite color of beach-bound brides everywhere. Don't be afraid to pair aqua with eye-popping colors like fuchsia or coral, aubergine or pale yellow. For flowers, start with white or fuchsia orchids and super-fluffy peonies. Want to go a little wilder? How about coral roses and Pincushion Proteas, or fuchsia gloriosas.

winter 2

Aqua Goes to Paris

Take this flamboyant theme (perfect for bridal showers, too) for a spin by arranging giant ostrich feathers in tall Eiffel vases and scattering marabou feathers plus rose petals down your tables. The perfect boutonniére: a white rose, a few marabou feathers and a shiny aqua ribbon. Trés chic!

More Aqua Tips for Any Bride

A classic treatment of aqua calls for a classic flower. It's easy to lose your heart to roses in white, blush or even peach. For an elegant centerpiece, go for paveed roses arranged side-by-side in aqua wooden boxes. Or place simple posies of white and blush roses in square glass cylinders, tying them off with a blue satin ribbon.

A white and aqua candy buffet also makes a stylish statement. Try silver Hershey's kisses, blue Jordan almonds, and white amorini and conversation hearts.

Aqua Attire

David's Bridal has made suiting up for aqua easy (look for "Pool"). Popular combos for bridesmaids (again!) include ivory, pink and chocolate brown in some combination with aqua.

It bears repeating, though: aqua can be overpowering in large doses, unless you lighten it up with a splash of white. The white crinolines shown above are one gorgeous way of breaking up the color block of your bridesmaids' gowns.

Another option: confine aqua to smaller canvases, like sashes, vests, or table overlays.

Speaking of vests, the guys will look sharp in black tuxes with aqua blue ties. Look into those chocolate brown tuxedos too, which make a visually eye-popping match for chocolate brown/aqua blue bridesmaids.

definitely silver, you want the aqua blue to be the main pop of color and lemon yellow wouldn’t allow it to be the center of attention as much as the silver would

I used tiffany blue, silver and white. It was elegant and beautiful. I tried other colors like coral, lemon, jade, red, fushia, lavendar - none of them worked. I am very happy about my choice.

Good Luck!

Hey Everyone,
A while back I decided to post all of my ideas I used at my Tiffany Blue wedding (which was in May) and got a huge response from everyone, so I decided to post the ideas again for the new upcoming brides to be. I am just trying to help, so please do not critique me. This is more for the brides that are DIY and on a budget like I was.

Few Ideas for the Dresses and Such:
For BM Dresses I wish I would have researched more. My girls bought dresses that I picked out, but when they came in I didn’t like them, so I had to have a seamstress alter it. But I wish I would have went to Forever21 earlier because they had Fabulous Find dresses that were called jade satin strapless dress and these dresses were the perfect shade of Tiffany Blue and only $15!!!! So look at their website, now that it is getting closer to spring to see these dresses. Also, I found bridal heels at Rack Room Shoes the other day that were just $20 (silver with rhinestones).

Few Ideas for the Ceremony:
Hobby Lobby pretty much sponsored my wedding because all the floral and centerpieces and such came from there. Also this site called efavormart was the cheapest place for chair sashes, paper lanterns, etc… I got blue and cream silk hydrangeas from Hobby Lobby for 50% off and used these in the centerpieces and arrangements.

Reception Ideas:
Have a menu just for kids that is very simple. This causes less waste of your good food and lower cost in catering. I had just mac and cheese and chicken fingers and not a single child complained LOL. Also I ordered ringpops from bulkfoods to put inside the favor boxes. I thought it was a cute idea to have a ring in a ring box. It was a hit!
I made my centerpieces from hydrangeas, trumpet vase, mirrors, tiffanyblue branches (spraypainted that color with Robin’s Egg Blue Spray Paint from Michael’s), and marbles. All purchased at Hobby Lobby.

For more ideas check out my flickr site at KaleyBaby. I have loads of pics on that site. I also have an idea for tiffany blue cake truffles for a cute bridal shower and for invitations. Please research a lot for wedding products, especially online because I bought so many things from online stores you have never heard of.
Well hope this helps you guys!

-Kaley

Ladies,

I am getting married on Aug. 07, 2010. I want my color to be pool blue. I need another color to go with pool blue. I do NOT want to use chocolate brown. Can anyone one give any suggestions? Also, where can I find everything for my wedding on a budget? My wedding will be held overlooking the beach, so I’m using the beach theme. My email address is tbeckymartin@yahoo.com

Tiffany blue and red is stunning.

You could also just use tiffany blue and pair it with white and/or ivory. That’s what we are doing - and everything has been placed together very nicely so far. Wedding is next weekend, so we’ll see. :)

For those of you who are still looking for chair sashes, etc.

I just got my chair sashes in and they match David’s Bridal pool EXACTLY. I bought the satin sashes from http://www.wholesaleweddingchaircovers.com. Pretty fast shipping, too! I ordered them on Friday and they were shipped to me on Wednesday.

Here is a picture to compare the colors. The picture doesn’t really do it justice, but the colors are EXACTLY the same. I don’t know how they managed to pull it off, but I am SO glad I bought them!

100 personalized luncheon napkins for $20.00.

“Aqua” matches the pool color and is more of a greenish/pool color. “Robins Egg” is more of a bright blue/turquoise color.

We ordered both to see the color difference.

Hope this helps!

I ask because we are debating on the guys wearing the tux jackets or not since the wedding is August now…. do you by chance have a picture of what your guys looked like for an idea for me? Hey! This is where I got mine from. My cousin told me about the store having a site and you can buy them in bulks of 6 and 12. I ordered mine from here and they look just as nice as ones that you pay $5-$25 for in other stores. Good luck!

I know that they have a 9.5″ vase as well on there thats just like it only it has an overlay top. I went to our local store and found a 5″ one as well but I did notice that they dont have those as bulks on the website. If you have a local Dollar Tree in your area, you may be able to find those as well. If not, you can let me know how many of the smaller ones you would need and I can always go to our store and see if they have them in stock still. I can just buy them and you can pay me for them and ship them to you. Always an idea :)

Hey girls, I found these beautiful aqua pool pearls the other day and because of that I decided to change my accessories to this instead of silver/diamonds. I am selling my preciously bought stuff to try and replace the money I just used on my pearl things.

Victoria Wieck “Floating Ice” Crystal Cuff Bracelet Watch

Asking $30.00 for it. It is still in its box that I purchased it in. Brand New, never tried on or used. Size: Med/Large-Bracelet measures approx. 6-1/2″L x 3/8″W

4.25ct Multigem Flower-Design Sterling Silver Ring
Appraised Value $105.00 - Purchased for $60.00
Asking $40.00 for it. Size 7, I bought this because it had my entire families birthstones in it and that way they could all be with me on my wedding day. But I need the money and it doesnt go with my pearls so trying to sell it. Approx. 4.25ct (.8ct Mozambique garnet, .75ct Nigerian blue topaz, .7ct Chinese peridot, .55ct African amethyst, .55ct Brazilian pink amethyst, .35ct Brazilian citrine, .35ct Nigerian white topaz)

Hey Whitney,

I am having a Pool Blue wedding and I bought my favor boxes off ebay. They arent 100% a match but they are like 90%-95% matchable. I hear that Pool Blue is the exact match to Tiffany Blue on this site so they may be what you are looking for as well. I attached a link of what I bought so you have an idea of what I am using. Hope this helps and good luck with the planning!!!

Hey Trish,

Yes I still have the flower girl dress that is a size 2T in US. We paid close to $70.00 for this after tax. Asking $40.00 since it never was worn. Still has tags on it. It would fit perfectly in a size Medium Flat Rate Priority box. With Delivery Confirmation added so that it can be tracked it would cost $11.05 to ship in the USA. If you are still interested in it you can write back on here or email me directly at cherrie2oo4@fuse.net I uploaded the pictures on here again so that you can click on them to view larger images. If you scroll on down on this page you will see a picture of a shirt and tie set that I have for sale. If you like that, then The shirts came from a small little privately owned suit shop in latonia ky. But… the brand name is Alexander Julian and its under their Dress Shirt & Hand Made Tie Collection. You could probably search for them or search for a local store near you that sells their brand to find them. Good Luck they are really cute in person!

Katie,
I didn’t know the theme/style/formal,semiformal,casual? simple glass vases or containers covered in fabric with the contrsting ribbon around the base would be cute. Another idea is to buy tiered stands and have your favors double as centerpieces. Or cupcake stands. One idea that is cute is candy centerpieces.

The idea I think I’m going with for a simple blue and brown wedding is this…Didn’t want to go too crazy with the flowers so I am keeping it simple. A pool colored runner going down the middle of the table with small skinny vases with prolly 2 blue daisy’s and 1 white one. A brown ribbon tied around the vases. Then some sort of brown bowl filled with hershey kisses. Then white votive candles in the mix surrounding it… sound cute or not?? lol

Wow…this site has been so helpful. Tiffany Blue and chocolate seems to be a popular color right now. I just learned that my fiancee will be home from a special ops mission for just two weeks and we have a small window of opportunity to get married before he leaves for Korea. So, here goes…I am doing the unthinkable, planning a wedding in less than 6 weeks. I want to put my girls in chocolate dresses and need to throw in the Tiffany blue. I bought my dress today from Alfred Angelos and need help ladies. Anyone still have any items for sale due to time and budget constraints?? Help!!
