The Aqua Blue Wedding
Either way, the aqua blue wedding (often paired with the most classic of supporting acts, like silver, pearls and creamy roses) is a feast for the imagination ... and the eyes.
Pulling off Your Own Aqua Blue Wedding
Plenty of aqua brides stick to their beloved blue, offset with lots of crisp white and crystal. But many brides accent with more colors. Popular uptown picks include chocolate brown, platinum and soft pastel pink. Beachier combinations include orange, fuchsia or yellow. Fearless brides even pair aqua with red!
This look offers so many choices, you just need to lay claim to yours. Decide whether to "spread the wealth" with faux pearls and seashells, or swarovski crystals and platinum accents, or seashells or giant white ostrich feathers — or some other direction that's all your own.
Aqua Blue and Crystal
If you're a crystal bride, you'll sparkle in a gown with a bodice lightly embroidered with Swarovski crystals, and tuck a crystal tiara in your updo. Then, thrill your bridesmaids with crystal hair pins or combs. Plus, place glimmering picks in your floral bouquet, or skip the blooms and bear an all-Swarovski heirloom crystal bouquet down the aisle.Having a tent wedding? Line the marquee roof with string lights, hang clear crystal chandeliers from the center, and prop up more crystal in the form of grand candelabras topping Corinthian columns.
Then, look into the new pintucked linens with subtle metallic thread, and draw on crystal-studded placecard frames to guide your guests to their seats. Top off your cake with another tiara, circling a sweet dome of cream-colored roses.

Aqua and Platinum
Imagine crisp white roses peeking out of silver trumpet vases. Sleek silver candlesticks keep the look going, with delicate white rose petals scattered at the base. A silver monogram sets off the top of your cake. Brushed silver frames announce each table number and guest seat.
Guests tuck into a delectable meal over silver chargers, after oohing and ahhing over the generous favor box that graced their plate. While you finished up with your photos, they'd enjoyed a signature cocktail made with Blue Curacao and a jigger of pineapple juice, gussied up even more with a bright blue sugar rim.
Your gifts to your bridesmaids? Sterling-silver pendants ... and timeless silver cufflinks for the guys.
Aqua Hits the Beach
Aqua's a favorite color of beach-bound brides everywhere. Don't be afraid to pair aqua with eye-popping colors like fuchsia or coral, aubergine or pale yellow. For flowers, start with white or fuchsia orchids and super-fluffy peonies. Want to go a little wilder? How about coral roses and Pincushion Proteas, or fuchsia gloriosas.
Aqua Goes to Paris
Take this flamboyant theme (perfect for bridal showers, too) for a spin by arranging giant ostrich feathers in tall Eiffel vases and scattering marabou feathers plus rose petals down your tables. The perfect boutonniére: a white rose, a few marabou feathers and a shiny aqua ribbon. Trés chic!More Aqua Tips for Any Bride
A classic treatment of aqua calls for a classic flower. It's easy to lose your heart to roses in white, blush or even peach. For an elegant centerpiece, go for paveed roses arranged side-by-side in aqua wooden boxes. Or place simple posies of white and blush roses in square glass cylinders, tying them off with a blue satin ribbon.A white and aqua candy buffet also makes a stylish statement. Try silver Hershey's kisses, blue Jordan almonds, and white amorini and conversation hearts.

Aqua Attire
David's Bridal has made suiting up for aqua easy (look for "Pool"). Popular combos for bridesmaids (again!) include ivory, pink and chocolate brown in some combination with aqua.
It bears repeating, though: aqua can be overpowering in large doses, unless you lighten it up with a splash of white. The white crinolines shown above are one gorgeous way of breaking up the color block of your bridesmaids' gowns.
Another option: confine aqua to smaller canvases, like sashes, vests, or table overlays.
Speaking of vests, the guys will look sharp in black tuxes with aqua blue ties. Look into those chocolate brown tuxedos too, which make a visually eye-popping match for chocolate brown/aqua blue bridesmaids.

My fiance insists on having a big wedding…..so that’s okay with me I suppose. Anyway.. I’m all ready on my 2nd set of bridesmaids.. I have no idea what to do.. I’m on a budget and would love any ideas. My fiance and I are Chefs and will be making our reception dinner and I’ll be making my own wedding cake… Any help is greatly appreciated.

nichole,
wow!! chefs?!? that is amazing! okay. make this wedding into an unwedding( you are the unwedding bridal style) it is in the new brides mag. it can be a big wedding just pare it down in florals etc. kinda like imitating a big wedding. wow taking on all the food is a great thing to do but if you are planning a wedding it will be time consuming. this is the unwedding( technically a cocktail party) i am talking about…. find a restaurant ( perhaps the one youwork at) if you do this right it will be budget friendly( especially where decor is concerned; it has everything you need including napkins!!. hint: already decorated SMILE!) . you probably know the best and cheapest appetizers etc. (which is what i would have, not a plated meal but a heavy appetizer reception with beverages) if using alcohol limit to a signature drink and champagne or wine) make it loft style. find a killer dress in a simple halter (no frills etc) and heels.( to make this more onthe formal side have a floor length train) have him in the tux with the tie(not bow tie). use 1 color and 1 type of flower in chic minimalist approach. roses( they are cheaper in bulk in all white, ivory or champagne roses)are your best bet ( leave off the greenery for more chic look) tie with a fab ribbon. rent gorgeous garden urns and have filled with abundant greenery spilling over edges for alter. skip the aisle decor( have 2 more urns at beginning of aisle). you will want all the focus to be on the alter and of course you. i would head out pronto and buy the new brides magazine ( or at least look at it) you will see the idea i am talking about. i wish it was online already but….. this might be the way to have the big wedding a little more easier. when you check it out let me know what ya think!! til then…..

of course! check with your florist and find what is in season in your budget. they will suggest types of flowers that are perfect for this. one of my faves for this color scheme will always be the hydrangea, though a little pricey depending on location. you can use less of these because of the large floral head. it makes a wonderful impact even with 1 stem not to mention they come in other colors. lilies are beautiful, carnations are becoming a strong wedding flower because they look amazing when arranged tightly and give bang for the buck! most often do not like these lil’ flowers but even with miniature carnations, they offer a gorgeous look for less. they have long been an overlooked flower and after you see the pics… you will wonder why?
maybe this will help!!

Hello everyone, I’ve heard so much about having a candy buffet table at wedding receptions, so I am planning to have one at mine. I’ve decided on a variety of candy, but I am stuck on what to use for my guests to put their candy. I’ve wanted to use the favor boxes from the very start but I just don’t think that they’ll work in this case. Also, Im wondering about creating little cards for each table and saying what the candy table is, otherwise how will my guests know what to do. Perhaps a cute little verse. If anyone has any advice or ideas for a candy table I would appreciate it very much. I am not very creative when it comes to planning things, espically my wedding. Its like I know what to do, I just can’t do it. Thanks, Patti
Hello Ladies,
My wedding is June 13th and I am having an issue trying to figure out what kind of flowers to have! My colors are aqua, white, and black. Should i do them all white flowers or do you think i should add a color and if so what color?
Hi Lisa I am planning a wedding for July and we are also doing aqua/pool black and white. We are doing white roses for the bride about 2 dozen wrapped with white ribbon and rhinestones, crystals in the flowers, the bridesmaids will have a smaller bouquet of white roses also with the crystals/rhinestones but the stones will be aqua and the hand tied ribbon will be black. Centerpieces will also have different white flowers and we are using lots and lots of crystals and candles.
lisa, i completely agree with tina, white is what i would suggest. the only other idea would be white flowers with tinges of color in the center on edges like…yellows, blush or pinks. only a hint though.
Thank you Stacey and Tina
I guess i will stick to white roses! Im so excited i cant wait!
Lisa - I am having pool blue dresses and black tuxes, and we are doing orange, yellow and pink gerbera daisies :) Just met with the florist today, and I think it will be awesome… adds some color, and makes it bright and summery. Just an idea!
my wedding is next week and i will be selling my tiffany box centerpieces (10 in total) with white satin ribbon.
below is an example:

Hello everyone.I’am gettting married June 20th and my colors are tiffany blue and bright white.I’am needing at least 75 tiffany blue sashes for the backs of chairs and table runners.Does anyone know where I can find the TRUE color tiffant blue and not a knock off color? I ‘am starting to really stress over this so anyone that could PLEASE HELP I would be so appreciative!
Amanda
I was looking at efavormart and saw the napkins/table runners for purchase in turquoise/aqua blue, and I was curious if anyone was interested in splitting the cost of these and shipping them between each other for our weddings? Let me know what you think! Seems to make sense to me!
Jackie,
Couple questions for you real quick. When is your wedding? How many napkins & runners will you need? Where do you live (to figure out shipping). My wedding is quite far away, May 1st 2010, so I am not in a hurry. I live in St. Louis, MO. I am having a larger wedding of about 350 - 375 guests. I would be interested in ordering if you want to contact me my email is staceyanne041@hotmail.com.
Hello Ladies,
Well my wedding planner has not done such a great job, and still is missing lots of stuff. My wedding is on APRIL 5th, only 2 weeks away and I am in desperate need of TIFFANY BLUE TABLE RUNNERS, CHAIRS SASHES, and White satin ribbon, or anything else that you would think of that would make this event a sucessful one….
Worried about my wedding,
melysa
melysa,
i dont have items for sale but i will help in any way that i can to help you pull the wedding together. if you want to share what is done so far maybe i can help walk you through this.
my suggestion on the table runners and the sashes is track down a rental company; (if you cant find any to buy), pronto. or buy bolts of fabric and go to a seamstress, tell your dilemma and have them made. another idea is keep all white lines EXCEPT your cake table, buy an AMAZING piece of fabric with rhinestones, sequins, etc. , and sew it into a runner. go to a craft store or walmart purchase the wooden letters to spell “I do” and have it on the cake table or by the favor table.
do you have all your floral needs taken care of? is your bridal party attire taken care of? catering? what other items are you needing?
if you cannot find table runners then use regular white linens and tie in white or aqua sashes. if the chairs look awesome then i would consider axing the sashes. Aqua napkins(especially in a print, think damask will add wow factor), aqua favor boxes with white ribbon, and tinting the water your flowers are gonna be in(if your using clear glass containers) will be a great way to tie in the aqua in a hurry. (its easy to get the desired shade with food dye, just add enough for the aqua shade cause if its a HIGH concentrate then white flowers will start turning blue the MORE the dye the faster the process) but for aqua water it wont take much and it wont turn the flowers, it will take DAYS instead.
i dont know what color your flowers are but if they are in the blue range with white then that is already a plus. i hope you post back, together maybe we can help you have wonderful day and lower the stress while getting things done.
oh yeah what size is your wedding? formality? if i know all this it will help. you may have to pare down (unless budget allows) and concentrate on great ribbons on your bouquets etc. add brooches to the ribbons. anything that will make it look million dollar. i cant stess enough about white paper lanterns (from walmart) they make a space look amazing and these are so cheap!! also orientaltrading.com has these too and other items. also aqua lanterns would look amazing.
thanks for you generous and amazing help….
I’m getting my tiffany blue sashes from Elegant Presentation. They have an online store and will ship the items to anywhere in the country. Very reasonable prices.

SORRY MY COLORS ARE BLUE ( AQUA OR TIFFANY) AND CHOCLATE BROWN
hi, these are my colors as well. have you had any luck finding flowers in the colors
i have same colors looking for same thing–as for flowers i used artifical silk flowers (open and closed roses)
heather, all white flowers make this color scheme pop. not to mention takes the guesswork out of matching florals. roses can be bought in bulk can add greenery for a lush garden feel or just white roses for a today, modernish wedding. both look equally stunning!
just google image tiffany blue and chocolate wedding board. but if you want alot of results in the different shades of blue; then google image blue and brown wedding then brown and blue wedding it will show different results. also google imaging either aqua blue wedding or tiffany blue wedding will bring up results.
yellow or green flowers that look fab too.
heather,

Hi Heather what’s your email address and I will send you pics of the beautiful flowers this lady just did for me. My colors are also Tiffany Blue and Chocolate. My email address is keannamcclendon@yahoo.com
Hey Heather,
I don’t know how hands-on you are but I too am in a budget bind and I’m making everything myself, I mean invitations, centerpieces, menus, etc. i’m using IKEA twin bedsheets (flat) as table cloths. I mean everything that I can make I will. You can email me for other ideas if you wish jfannis@hotmail.com.
Hi Heather,
My colors are also Tiffany blue and Chocolate. On the guests tables I am having chocolate floor length table cloths with tiffany blue runners. The runners will form an X on each table. Then on the cake and head tables I am reversing the look and having tiffany blue table cloths. As far as flowers go I am ordering the off Sams website in bulk and doing them myself. I am debating between callalillies and a blue tinted lilly. I can not remember the name. I am renting the table cloths and runners. They have my actual setup on their website http://www.confettirentals.net
Hope this helps!!

Hi ladies,
My wedding has been cancelled and I have 13lbs of M&M’s that I was going to use in my favor boxes. I paid $10.99 a lb. at Mr. Bulkys and I will sell for $90 plus $11 to ship. I have 4 lbs of chocolate brown, 4 lbs of cream and 5 lbs of Aqua, which looks just like the Tiffany Blue. E-mail me if interested. stacey.dr@hotmail.com
These were just purchased two weeks ago.
I am getting married next summer. The M&Ms should be good by then unless they have been opened. My colors are pool and white. I would be interested in the cream and aqua M&Ms. Do you think that 9 pounds would be enough to fill 120 pillow boxes?
Tisa, you may want to try the candy calculator on this site, it should give you a good idea. Get some ordinary m&ms (just for the size) and see how many you want to put in a pillow box. You may not want them “full” because that will be a lot of candy.
» wedding candy calculator
Then when you know how much you like having in each box, try out the calculator, it will help you estimate. FYI, m&ms are about 530 candies to the pound. HTH!
Hi Ladies,
Anyone interested in buying POOL BLUE and CHOCOLATE BROWN bridesmaids dresses for summer?? I have 4 NEW, in the bag, UNALTERED bridesmaids dresses from Alfred Angelos. They are the separates: tea length chocolate skirts and a strapless pool blue top with chocolate lines and a bow (a strap is included), sizes, 2, 8, 10, and 18. I was supposed to be getting married in July, but my wedding got called off by the X, so now I’m stuck with these 4 gorgeous dresses.
If interested, please email me at catch33_99@yahoo.com and I can send you pictures. THANKS!
i would like to see photos of the dressses. abradley1218@yahoo.com
thanks!
I would like to see pictures of the dresses if you still have them available!!
Thank you
