A Pink & Green Wedding
But wait: didn't pink once belong to hopelessly girly-girl brides who had to go by the book?
Even if that was ever the case, today's revved-up pink and green are modern dynamos, urging each other on to ever-higher heights.
Don't get us wrong, pink and green doesn't have to be all about setting new trends. Play it softly, and you have a classic English garden theme you might find in your mother's wedding album (one that you're sure to still swoon over!).
But this combo can also drive you to color outside the box. Which is why you see brides turning up the heat with greens like lime or honeydew, and pinks that border on fuchsia. In short, you can take these two anywhere: from Newport Beach to Negril and everywhere in between.

This theme calls for some true guilty pleasures when it comes to blooms and other flora: pink peonies or zingy tulips, blushing roses or stargazer lilies; and for green, kermit mums, cymbidium orchids and hypericum berries, small green apples or zesty limes.
Ribbon and ties tend to play a big role in this wedding, too, from bridesmaids' gowns to chair sashes. On the modern side, you might also find citrus fruit piled up in clear eiffel vases, or polka dots that jazz up the bridesmaid or flower girl attire. Tea-length gowns are popular for the 'maids in this warm-season wedding. So are fun, casual touches like cafe-style menus done in pink and green chalk, or candy buffets filled with treats for both the eye and the palette, in pink and chartreuse.

Hi Girls!
I am loving all of your comments! I am having a hot pink and lime green wedding and I am in a HUGE dilemma! I am unsure of what color chair covers and table cloths I should have. I am debating between white and black….I am afraid that the white will be too bright and the black to dark…..any suggestions?!
tilley,
do you have a pic or link of your venue? that way i can give a better idea of what should be used. thanks!!
Hi Stacey!
This is the link to our venues website pictures.
http://www.glendenninggolf.ca/photos/wedding_tour/index.html
I have also attached some…..I can’t find a picture that gives a full view….I hope this is good enough!
Thanks!
Hi Tilley, great to hear from you! i love your venue. i found some other pics and really studied it. i found 3 pics that i believe you might like. one is softer and the other is bolder. after looking at the room and the pics on the website, i saw that green really made it pop enhancing the outdoor view. i didnt put black cause i did think it was to dark. i also thought it might be to many bright colors against the black and white. the room wouldnt flow well as i thought it could with a softer setting. i do prefer the white table linens the best cause it compliments the interior so well, especially the dark wood. let me know if you like them or just one. thanks!!
I like the idea of a green and pink wedding… but I’m wondering… should I put my bridesmaids in pink or green dresses and should they be carrying pink or green flowers?
I had a soft pink and sage green wedding. I put my girls in green dresses and they carried pink flowers
Here is a link to some of my wedding pictures.

DC,
it is pretty much a matter of taste. for a more bold look consider putting the bm in pink with green bouquets or green dress with pink. if you choose to put them in a more classic neutral color then have the pink and green bouquet.

I am putting my bridesmaids in green dresses and having them carry pink flowers. I have a pink sash on my dress on my bouquet is going to have some pink but mostly green orchids.
I need serious HELP with my pink and lime green wedding theme! We already have the bridesmaids dresses, bright pink (style #83488 from David’s Bridal). We have rented the tuxes, with a watermelon vest and tie (closest thing to fuchsia we could find). My fiance wanted lime green, but we could not find anything out there with a nice bright green. My dress is pretty plain, and so I am spicing it up with my crinoline I’ve dyed fuchsia and will have pink shoes as well. The flowers and ceremony will be a mix of pink and green flowers.
What I urgently need help with, is the reception decor… The venue is quite drab looking and I want it to be spicy and colorful. I see in previous comments, Stacey, that you are telling those people whose venues don’t match their color scheme to incorporate the venue’s colors somehow. But I really don’t want drab oranges and reds and blues mixed in. And it is too late to change the garments of the wedding party and colors for flowers. So is it completely tacky to just do my bright thing ignoring the carpet and decor around at the reception? My idea is to use alternating bright green and bright pink tablecloths on every other table laid over the white tablecloths, and with white napkins, and then have a candle centerpiece in the middle centered in a light tan bamboo bowl with sand/gravel (don’t want to do flower centerpieces). But then that’s my other issue. I really really REALLY want to do lucky bamboo as favors and set them out on the tables (will go well with the green theme) and river rocks as placecards. I love these ideas and want to use them, but am wondering if it is getting too earthy to fit into a bright theme??? I need some serious help as time is running out, four more months to go!!! Help!!! TIA!!!
Jillian,
Hi, my apologies for any misunderstanding. i meant colors should compliment the venue. after looking at the pic, i would stay with my color scheme. one thing you could do is rent chair covers, that way you wouldnt have to worry about the chair colors interfering in your pink and green color scheme or check with the venue to see if they have other chairs. its a long shot but worth asking. renting chair covers is pretty reasonable. you could also have pink or green pin lights around the room. i would use what i loved and it sounds like your wedding will be fab! i wouldnt change a thing. you could also add white lights to rented ficus( if you wish)or greenery in the room( if allowed). the river rocks etc. with the bright theme will be amazing. i wouldnt consider it earthy, but more zen/tropics. think about tropical islands, they are known for their bright vivid colors, bamboo, and rocks. when paired together it is breathtaking. the idea is to have a wedding about the 2 of you and this will let the guests know a little about your personalities. i LOVE it!! let me know if you need more help!!
Ohhh - Thank you. You have eased my fears. You always hear people talking about how tacky this and that is, and I don’t want people to think that about my wedding (I know - why do I care what “people” think, but I think we all do to a degree!). And most every person that I’ve spoken with about my “autumn” wedding is just appalled that I am not doing a fall-ish color scheme. Thanks alot for being supportive! :-)
I think I mostly just need to set a mock table up and see how it all looks, if it looks incorporated enough. Thanks!
My wedding colors are going to be Watermelon and Lime green, or its going to be Hot pink. I am worryed that im not going to find the right lime green or green for the Grooms vest. Anyone have any ideas.
sarah,
try here, they usually have the latest colors and great matches!!
*men’s warehouse
if theydont then head to davidsbridal.com they have alot of colors too for the guys. if you cant find the right lime green, then dont have it in a color. if they are in black then have the vest in black, just add the fun of watermelon and lime in the boutonnieres or just a colored tie.
i have a question for stacey — those pictures that you posted of the pink and green wedding, the one of the reception in particular. is that from your wedding? i’m curious b/c one of my coworker’s mom recently sent us a wedding album of that exact wedding, and if it is your wedding i must ask you –where did you get your lime green chairs?? i’m having my wedding in key west next july and i simply can not live w/o lime chairs.
btw, that wedding was the most fabulous event i have ever seen, if i wasn’t already set on pink and green, it would’ve changed my colors completely.
thank you!!
melissa, no it wasnt from my wedding. it is something i found by research. i just try to help you guys out!! any linen rental company should have lime green chair covers. also try wedding rentals.
PINK AND GREEN color theme
.
I am going to have a garden wedding and outdoor reception in early Sept. I ve decided that im going to use either lime, kiwi, or honeydew green as my primary color and adding fuschia to make things more colorful. Also, its easier to find the Kiwi green or Lime green vests for the Grooms men bec. they refused to wear any kinds of pink . As far as the reception goes, I think im going with Kiwi green table runners on white table cloths..and alternating pink and green sashes on the chairs. Centerpieces will have diff. hues of PinK
my daughter has the same colors it turned out great. let me know if you want to see pictures i will email them. I have them for sale the wedding was last weekend
I am planning a June wedding and really want to go with the pink and green theme. However, our reception hall is blue and gold. Any ideas of how to incorporate these colours together?
megan,
it can work as long as you add blue into your palette. dont worry so much about the gold. it will be the “metallic” accent. just use gold instead of silver in your jewelry and metals throughout the ceremony and venue. my suggestion is have the bridal party in blue (navy is a beautiful and practical choice for guys and girls) then have the pink and green bouquets against the blue.) in the reception area. keep this simple. you will not want to clash. you will need enough blue to counteract the pink and green. i would use the darker pinks and greens if they go in the ceremony or a blend from light to dark pink with spring green foilage.
in the reception if the blue is bold go pale on the centerpieces pull the light pink with green from the bouquets and it will blend. it will keep it elegant unless you are going for a more fun look! with you all dark pink bouquet(just say) and the bm bouquets plus the bout. etc. you will have the color scheme you want without it going overboard. for your cake have the blend of colors on a golden cake. pinks, greens, and blues. done elegantly.
* Cranberry, Pistachio, Navy ( i like the color scheme here, just lighten according to the room)
*Inspiration Board # 22: Navy Blue, Pink Silver & Ivory
your actually in luck cause pink and green pop against blue.
i will try to put together a mood board for you. do you have a pic or a website i could see the venue?
megan,
remember it is not uncommon to have the ceremony in one color scheme and the reception in another. some weddings are solemn(pastels etc) then at the reception it is ready for a party! with colors in deep shades from red to deep purple etc.
Stacey,
Thank you very much for all of your tips and suggestions. You were able to confirm my thinking that this colour palette can in fact work. Unfortunately I do not have an electronic picture of the venue. The blue is more steel toned than a brillant royal or peacock blue would be, so I think your ideas will work well. Thanks again for your help!
My fiance and I are planning our wedding in December and we want to use green and pink as our primary colors and accent them with brown/coco color. Can any one send a link so we can check out some wedding ideas for our special day. Thanks

i love the pink gerbera daisy. i hope these ideas help. consider a gorgeous pink wedding arch with dripping greenery and a range of pink gerbera daisy shades. it will add depth with the contrast of pinks. 3 different pinks should do the trick. then carry this into your reception centerpieces while keeping aisle florals and other florals in one solid shade of pink.
hi I had a chance to read the deal about pink and green weddings I have to say the pink and lime green that my brother and he soon to be wife picked out I love its a hot pink and a lime green look the colors look beautifull together I cant wait to see the wedding pictures and all when we get them back after they get married in May I am a bridesmaid and I have to wear hot pink I am not fond of wearing pink because I am a farm girl but the color on me I love it not a bad color for any girlly girl to pick for her wedding I sujust more pink be in a wedding its also the brides day not anyone elses day that is inportan if a woman wants pink or purple let her have it because who knows u might like it my brother did not really like the idea but he had to live with it like the rest of us do at the wedding.

I am planning a wedding sometimes Sept. Next year. and believe you me our place is always very dry and dusty during that time. Kindly advise if the pink and green colour will go well and what is the groom and the grooms men supposed to put on? Kindly advise
Alice,
I am having a pink and green wedding, but the guys don’t really want to wear frilly pink or green, so they will be wearing classic black and white. They will have a small hint of color in the boutonnieres. As far as the pink and green gos, it is more thought of as a spring color combo, but it would work for fall and if that is what you want, go for it. Good Luck!
alice go to brides.com and take a look at the slideshow Desert Delight. check that out!! hope it helps!!
Hi, I’m planning my wedding and the colors are of course Green and pink. we want to have a nice garden wedding and want to stay wthin our budget!!! help on the set up of the reception and centerpiece.
thks,.
my wedding is in sept of this year, colors are pink and orange with a little green. i saw the cutest centerpieces! it was a watermelon cut in half with daisys arranged in it. no need for water and it looked simple enough that even somebody inexperienced with flower arrangements could do it on there own.
I’m getting married June 09 and I’d love to have a pink, green and white wedding.. but the walls of my reception area are burgundy. Would this look okay, or should I go with something else?
i love it girl..
lindz, i have found the answer to your dreams google image pink and burgundy wedding and check out the Anne Ruthman board on the flickr website. it works and in a elegant way just add burgundy roses to the pink white and green. also google image burgundy wedding. though the first is my fave.
Laurie - might be too late for you, but that is the colour of my BM dresses, and it’s Celadon from the Alfred Angelo range. Hope that helps!
