A Pale Pink & Champagne Springtime Wedding
Looking for a wedding palette that's romantic yet classic, sweet yet dignified, that couldn't be a better fit for early spring? Pale
pink and champagne make for a gorgeous start.
To begin with, champagne's inherently romantic. It's the color of times-gone-by, when fabrics were made of natural fibers and woven by hand.
Plus, it blends so perfectly with pink, you can knock these two together fearlessly (for example, your reception will look beautifully coordinated even if you choose pink for some of your table runners or chair sashes, and champagne for the others.)
In short: combine them, and you've got color alchemy that captures that fleeting season we barely have time to savor before the flower buds fall to the ground, the trees lose their baby shade of green, and the fairy quality of spring light on morning grass fades into summer's more no-nonsense rays.

Getting the Look
Pink and champagne together aren't just about spring, though. They're also a little bit French, and a little antique. So bring an even more romantic vision to your springtime wedding by donning a slightly vintage wedding gown with detailed lacework, a sweet scalloped neckline, and a gorgeous button-back closure. Bridesmaids in champagne will look elegant (yet not at all stuffy) in sashes of rich gold satin, holding romantic hand-tied bouquets of cream and pale pink roses.
Then, echo your gown's lacy details with beautiful damask table linens in neutral tones. But avoid an overly formal look by topping off your tables with exuberant garden flowers: tea or spray roses tossed together with billowing pink peonies, delicate ranunculus and ivory hydrangeas.
A detailed white-on-white cake covered in scrollwork also mirrors your dress, especially when set on a classic silver cake plateau and topped with a profusion of spring flowers. A dab of chartreuse in the form of green roses, or a few scattered orchids, adds an almost heartbreakingly lovely third dimension to a palette that can otherwise be too sedate.

Designing a Place in Time
Once again, this look combines the finery of times gone by with the natural, unfussy sweetness of a backyard garden in spring. So to create a beautiful balance against the cottage look of your flowers and the sweetness of your gown, you'll want to use the most classic of table decor: cut-crystal style champagne flutes, fanned linen napkins, gold rimmed chargers ... even gold chivari chairs.
Finally, remind your guests that appreciating spring in full means lingering over the delicate aromas of the moment. Tempt their palates with lighter-than-air morsels served in miniature, such as trays of lemony marscapone cream puffs, petit fours, or mini-cupcakes topped in butter frosting of champagne, pink and pale green.
Lure them further with fettucini spiked with tender baby vegetables, roasted white asparagus, tea sandwiches, mini quiches, and salads with fresh baby field greens and a lemon-dill dressing. As for the toasting and dinner wine, serve the closest thing to spring in a bottle: flutes of crisp bubbly, or our personal favorite — Prosecco.

Hello!
Im getting marrid June 2012:) and although I am truly excited I cant pick a color. My soon to be husband and I met at a Dodger Game and were great fans, I wanted to do this color but have nothing to pair it with:( Also, i wanted brown with teal but not sure how that would look. This is stressing since the date is soon approaching. Help with colors but nothing pink or pale colors like purple or girly ones
thanks:)
Marcie,
Can I see a venue link or pic, I can give some color suggestions that compliment your setting. Actually the Dodgers color would look great with green.
Or have a “shades of blue” with white like here…
This is beautiful….

Hello…my wedding is not until June of 2012 but I was thinking about wearing a white dress and having my bridesmaids wear sage color dresses with and ivory sash. But I wasn’t for sure if my white dress and the ivory sashes would go together.
Sarah,
It will be fine. One way to have both colors thruout decor is using touches of white and ivory flowers.
Hi Everyone!
I could really use some suggestions with regards to my colour theme. I really like the idea of a pale pink and champagne. But I don’t know what tone of champagne would be best. Does anyone have some ideas? I don’t want it to be too close to white.
Mel,
* you could always go with a deeper champagne like in some of the pics
* real wedding
me and my partner are getting married april 2012, i havnt brought my dress yet but i am loving the champagne dresses rather than ivory, as our wedding is going to be in spring i am liking the idea of a spring themed wedding , i love tulips and lilys although you cant really but bothe flowers together, i am now struggling on coming up with a colour scheme that will go with a champagne dress, my favourate colour is yellow so i was hoping for yellow but pastel green sounds nice too, do you think pastel green, champagne and gold would go? what flowers would i use!
ahhh all the things too think about!!
exciting nevertheless!
thanks
naomi,
First consider your skintone when choosing the wedding dress color.
*tips
Also tulips and lilys look beautiful together, pair with roses, and fillers.
* pics of tulip and lily bouquets and arrangements
Your color scheme should compliment your venue. Do you have a pic/link?
Naomi,
I also think green and gold would look beautiful. I would keep my flowers all cream though. Do groupings of a different flower in same shade. Like a vase of lilies with a vase of shasta daisies, another vase of tulips, etc.

Hi Stacey,
I love ur ideas so much.
I urgently need your help. Ihave got time to experiment. I am getting married in sep 2011. I really want a vintage/Antique wedding. I have no clue what colours i must use but i am avoiding pink at all costs. My venue will be in a masive tent in my husbands home village town. I will be wearing an ivory dress. what colours would be sutable for the braids maids, men and decore. The mens sutes should not have tails please just want them to look vintage and not morden stlye. please help
Amwine,
I think you might be able to find some ideas thru some of my mood boards.
* here they are
Is there a particular year you are leaning too? That will help narrow down some ideas. If you are wanting to go with traditional customs of vintage stick with whites, creams, etc. Guys would be in black or grey. More upscale weddings had candelabras or crystal vases with loose style arrangements. An old font would be ideal for invites.
* like this wedding
* or this
Amwine,
*Great articles
* one more
* fun pics to look thru for the vintage inspired groom
Need help for my wedding on May 14, 2011.
I am really having colors choosing an accent color. I finally decided on the color “european grey” by Bill Levkoff for my bridesmaids. (Unfortunately, the website doesn’t do the color justice! And, now I am having doubts.)
I thought fushia would be a great accent color with flowers and shoes along with the guys ties. However, I don’t want to kill the vibe with too much. My dress is a simple strapless with lacy throughout and my fiance will wear his military blues (Army) uniform for our Catholic wedding at St. John’s Cathedral.
To assist, the reception is at the Hilton City Center in Milwaukee.
Please help!
Katie,
If your dress is simple, and you don’t want the other colors and decor to overpower you. If it were me, after looking at the site-I would go with the pink shade but add shades of pinks in the fuschia to “soften” the look. It will compliment a lace wedding dress very much.
* you coudl even do something like this and it would be beautiful
* or this
Katie,
* now this bouquet would be ideal if using deeper pinks, it is wrapped in a subtle wrap
* here is how your colors can look, it is beautiful, just mixed with other shades of pink.
Katie,
* just found this-use grey linens with a sheen, this would be so pretty
